Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Songs that remind me of books.

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they post a new Top Ten list that members at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. All bloggers are then welcomed to join. This week’s Top Ten Tuesday is a free topic but around the idea of books and music so I choice the topic;  Top ten songs that remind me of books.

There are in particular order, and I have chosen these songs for different reasons. Sometimes it’s the song that reminds of the characters or of the book as whole and somethings it reflects how I felt during or after reading the book.

Maybe Someday by Griffin Peterson – Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover: Okay maybe this is cheating but hey, it does remind me of the book. If you don’t know what I am talking about Colleen Hoover worked with Griffin Peterson to make an album with the songs from the book and it’s perfect. I adore the album and listen to it a lot. If you want to check out the songs you can here. Apart from Maybe Someday, I love I’m in Trouble, Living a Lie and A Little Bit More.

Shut Up and Dance by Walk the Moon – Cress by Marisa Meyer: This represents the relationships in Cress for me. I don’ t know why, but it just fits.

One Call Away by Charlie Puth – The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare: This song is kinda of new to me, but when I was thinking about it, it reminds me of the relationships in the Mortal Instruments and it’s perfect. Plus it’s such a nice song.

Stiches by Shawn Menders – Blood Promise by Richelle Mead. This song is this book to me. It reminds me so much of how I felt reading the book the first time and every other time after that.

It Will Rain by Bruno Mars- Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout: This is perfect for the romance of this series. It’s beautiful and this song is one in the same.

Ordinary People by John Legend – Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry: This is for Noah and Echo, the push they pull, they fight and they love. Plus John Legend is amazing and this song is beautiful.

Breakeven by The Script – The Next Together by Laura James: This song reminds me of the whole book. How they always their way to each other and then lose each other just as quick. When they are together it’s beautiful and when they are not, it all breaks apart.

Bad Blood by Taylor Swift – Summer Skin by Kirsty Eagar: YES, YES and YES. I reminds me of Jess and all the girls against the Knights. Plus I had to put a Tay song into here.

And that is my list done for this week Top Ten Tuesday. I know it’s not 10, but I could not think of any more. What are some songs that remind you of books, do we have the same thoughts? If not what would you say for these books?

I love Shut Up and Dance so much! I love Walk the Moon’s Anna Sun even more. I’m glad that you paired it with a Lunar Chronicles book. I’m hoping to binge-read that series very soon. I also love the Script and I’ve been wanting to read The Next Together for a while!

I love when songs remind me of books. I did a short discussion post on this on my blog a while back. Anyway though, haha, I love the song Ordinary People. I’ve heard good things about the Pushing The Limits series too. Oh Breakeven, I love that song so much. It’s great.

As for me, the songs Gravity by Sara Bareilles and Illusionary Light by Sarah Blasko remind me of The Fault In Our Stars.

Don’t Dream It’s Over by Crowded House reminds me of Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell
Boy Problems reminds me of The Night We Said Yes by Lauren Gibaldi.

Confetti by Hilary Duff reminds me of Emmy and Oliver by Robin Benway

Hear You Me by Jimmy Eat World and Painting Flowers by All Time Low reminds me of All The Bright Places.

Yeah, this is what I wanted. I really enjoyed Vict Yeah, this is what I wanted. I really enjoyed Victoria Wilder’s Bourbon Boys series, and as soon as I heard she was writing a new series, around whiskey and women. Well, hell year. It took me a little bit to get into the book, but after a few chapters, I was hooked.

Wyn is hiding, hiding from everyone, even when she is there. She is hiding behind so much, and damn, I don’t blame her. We don’t know everything from the start, but we start piecing things together, and my heart broke. And I was terrified for her. But she is a Crowne woman, and that means something.

We’ve met Julian before, and while he intrigued me before, I am invested now. He is charming, secretive in the best way and will do anything at this point for Wyn. But he is also lost, and somehow he finds his way to Rumour and back into Wyn’s life.

The romance is hot and steamy and everything that you want. The tension and chemistry in this one is high. Neither Wyn nor Julian wants to really give in or give up on one another, but a lot is standing in their way, honestly, mainly themselves. I just sat there giggling half the time because they are swoon-worthy.

I would say this is the darkest Victoria Wilder book I’ve read, so double-check those trigger warnings before jumping in because there is a lot that happens. And I don’t think it’s going to die down any time soon because these Crowne women are badass, and I know things are only just getting started.

Overall, Rumors & Whiskey is hot and sexual. The tension is dripping off the page, and then you are thrown into the terror and horrors of Rumour. You don’t know what is going to happen next, you don’t know who to trust, and there are so many more secrets that have yet to be revealed. I know I am ready for more. Are you?

Thank you to @atriabooksaus for an earc of Rumors & Whiskey 🥃. I’m in love.

March was a better reading month than February for March was a better reading month than February for me, and while I’m still stuck in my heated rivalry fanfiction era I managed to scrap out of it a little this month.

I reread four books from the sweet omegaverse series and honestly had the best time. I also read two of my most anticipated reads of the year and had a blast. Sadly I did also have my first dnf of the year.

What did you read this March? Any standouts? What are you looking forward to reading in April? Let’s chat!
