More Books Added To My Goodreads TBR #3

More Books Added To My Goodreads TBR #3

    Jul 12, 2020

I’ve loved sharing my Goodreads tbr recently and thought it was time to do another one. I’ve done this twice already this year, you can check them out here and here.

Like I said in those posts I don’t use my Goodreads TBR as an indication of the books that I own. I use it more for the books that I want to read or I’m interested in. It’s a great way for me to also note down books that are coming out in the coming months that I want to pick up. Anyway, let’s get into it. Here are some of my latest additions to my Goodreads tbr.

The Extraordinaries (The Extraordinaries #1) by T.J. Klune: There is no surprise that this has made my list. The House in the Cerulean Sea has been one of my favourite reads so far this year. Then I saw Klune was bringing out a YA and it was added to Goodreads right away. It should be in at work sometime this week so I can’t wait.

I Can Make This Promise by Christine Day: I don’t read a lot of middle grades. But this one sounds like it’s going to be absolutely fantastic. It has some amazing reviews so far. And this makes me even more excited to pick it up.

Wild Rain (Women Who Dare #2) by Beverly Jenkins: This is the second book in the series that I started earlier this year, and I can’t tell you how excited I am. I’m starting to read more and more Beverly Jenkins and loving it to pieces, so I can’t wait to see what her new book brings.

Slippery Creatures (The Will Darling Adventures #1) by K.J. Charles: A M/M historical romance – umm yes, please. I spoke yesterday about why I’m loving reading more historical romance. And this is one of the reasons why. This sounds so good and the reviews have been just as good.

A Widow’s Guide to Scandal (The Sons of Neptune #1) by Hallie Alexander: I don’t know too much about this book, but it jumped on my radar when I was asked to review it. It sounds so interesting and I can never so no to more historical romances.

The Camelot Betrayal (Camelot Rising #2) by Kiersten White: I loved the first book in this series, so there is no doubt that I will be picking this up one up as soon as I can. I can’t wait to see where Kiersten White takes the characters and their stories. There are so many ways that this could go and I’m excited to see it happen.

Counting Down with You by Tashie Bhuiyan: If this book doesn’t scream it’s for me I don’t know what does. This sounds like it’s going to be fun but also touching. It’s got fake-dating, a bad boy and a deadline. Please and thank you. It doesn’t come out till next year, but I don’t even care.

Always Only You (Bergman Brothers #2) by Chloe Liese: Okay, yes I’ve out the second one on my TBR before I’ve read the first, but this one includes disability and you all know I love that. I do have the first one now though, so I can’t wait to read them both when I can. But this is a sports romance and you know I always want that in my life.

The Things We Leave Unfinished by Rebecca Yarros: I didn’t even have to know what this one was about before I put it on my TBR. I’ve read most of Yarros’ books to date and don’t think I will stop. Her books tear me apart and I am not ready for this one.

The Spare by Miranda Dubner: I didn’t even have to think twice before adding this to my tbr. It sounds like it’s going to be a fun, entertaining read. I’m hoping to pick this up soon. But gosh damn I’m ready for it. I like royal romances here and there and this sounds like it’s going to be a perfect read.

And those are some of the books I’ve added to my Goodreads TBR recently. I’m so excited for all of them. Some are alright out, some are coming out soon and some aren’t out till next year. But I’m ready.

More Kindle Unlimited Books On My TBR

    Jun 15, 2020

A few weeks ago I shared books that I have on my Kindle Unlimted as well as some of my recent KU reads. And my kindle unlimited is always changing. I read through these books quite fast and there have been some changes since I last made this type of post. I haven’t read all the books that I had on my last list, but there have been some changes.

So today I’m sharing the recent books I’ve added to my Kindle Unlimited TBR. It’s not the full 10 books here as like I said some haven’t changed. But here are some the recent ones I can’t wait to read. Like always these are in no order.

Ruthless Princess (Mafia Royals #1) by Rachel Van Dyken: This is either going to be a hit or miss for me. I’ve read a Rachel Van Dyken book before and didn’t love it. But I’ve been hearing some great things about this one recently. I’ve also been in a dark romance kind of mood so I think I might like it, but we never know.

Conquest (Dragon Bones, #1) by Celeste Harte: I honestly don’t know too much about this one, but I read the synopsis and it caught my attention. I haven’t read a fantasy romance in a while and this one sounds really interesting. And it has some pretty good reviews. It just sounds so fascinating and I cannot wait to read it.

Under Locke by Mariana Zapata: I’ve been slowly making my way through Zapata’s books and this is the next one that caught my eye. I’m interested in this one. But I also know that I’m in for a ride because it’s nearly 500 pages and damn that is long. But I think that this one sounds more like something that I would enjoy. This one has intrigued me to say the less.

Demetri (The Volkov Empire #1) by Crystal Daniels and Sandy Alvarez: I‘ve been slowly making my way through the world of these authors and I’ve been enjoying it. This book I have been hesitant about, but I’m also really interested in it. The second book just came out so I did want to get to it soon. It does sound more intense than the other books in this series though so that is going to be interesting.

Enthralled (The Enslaved Duet #1) by Giana Darling: Okay I’m not too sure about this one. I finished a Giana Darling series last month and loved it. But this is much darker than I usually read, so I am hesitant to read. But I do want to try it.

I also have The Forbidden Man by Karina Halle, Pestilence (The Four Horsemen #1) by Laura Thalassa and Hero (Morgan Brothers #1) by Lauren Rowe. As well as Fire in His Blood (Fireblood Dragon #1) by Ruby Dixon and Love Under Quarantine by Kylie Scott and Audrey Carlan on my TBR which I spoke about in my last post.

And that is it for this post. Do you use Kindle Unlimited? What are some of your favourite books that you have read from there? Have you read anything from this list? Let’s Chat!

Young Adult Books On My TBR

Young Adult Books On My TBR

    May 20, 2020

Today I thought I would share some of the young adult books on my TBR.  I’ve been more and more selective on the young adult that I read lately. I think I found myself falling into a runt where I wasn’t loving YA and that made me sad, so I’m being extra careful with what I’m picking up and reading at the moment.

So today I’m sharing some of the books that have recently caught my eye. I own some of these, some I have arcs and some I want to get. It’s a whole mix bag here. But I would love to hear your thoughts on the ones that you have read. Like always these are in no order.

The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levenseller: The synopsis of this one first caught my eye. I’ve been having a hard time picking young adult fantasy that I’ve really loved lately and I want to love this one. It sounds like it’s something that I would really enjoy. It’s has hit or miss reviews though, so that makes me nervous. But I’m still excited.

Lore by Alexandra Bracken: This one just recently ended up on my TBR. But it sounds like my thing. I’m always looking for new books that are about or inspired by Greek mythology and this one sounds amazing! And it intrigues me. Lore doesn’t come out till January next year but I cannot wait.

Dark Secret (Darkhaven Saga #1) by Danielle Rose: I really don’t know too much about this one. I came along it while at work and it caught my eye. I really want to read some more witchy books and this one seems to be the way. It has pretty good reviews so far and that says something to me.

House of Dragons (House of Dragons #1) by Jessica Cluess: This is another one that has been getting mixed reviews, but I’m intrigued. It sounds like there is going to be a lot of court intrigue – which I love! The concept is also really interesting and I want to see where it’s taken.

Date Me, Bryson Keller by Kevin van Whye: This one sounds so damn cute and I need it in my life. This is the type of book that I need to read when I’m sad. It’s the book that will make me happy and I’m so excited to read it.

Peta Lyre’s Rating Normal by Anna Whateley: This one caught my eye as soon as I read about it. Everything about this book screams at me and that intrigues me right from the start. It’s full of diversity, which is a win for me. I’ve already been hearing amazing things about it so I’m even more excited.

Rebel Spy by Veronica Rossi: I haven’t read a book from Veronica Rossi in years, but this is historical fiction and exactly what I love. I’ve not read many if any books set in the 1770s but I’m really drawn by the whole concept of this book. It’s already been getting some really good reviews so that makes me hopeful.

The Bro Code by Elizabeth Seibert: I know basically nothing about this book. But it came up on my NetGalley and caught my attention. I love the best friends sisters romance and this one sounds like it’s going to be fun. It sounds like it’s going to be cliche but I’m sorta okay with that.

The Upside of Falling by Alex Light: This is another one that sounds adorable. I’ve been feeling a lot more contemporary young adult lately and this seems like a good one to read.

And that is it. Those are some of the young adult books on my TBR. Have you read any of these? Are you planning on reading any of them? Let’s Chat!

April was a very good reading month for me, especi April was a very good reading month for me, especially after last month. I had some really fantastic reads in April. I did do a lot of re-reading this month but I had such blast. I re-read Caught Up and Play Along and the first 4 books in the Ironside Academy series. 📚

I read some books that I’ve been waiting for including the new book from Kels and Denise Stone, as well as the new Tessa Hale. ✨

Overall it was such a good month, lots of binge reading series and starting on some new authors. I’m so excited to see what May brings. 🖤

What was your favourite book that you read in April?

Thiago is ready to do anything to redeem himself and erase his past mistakes. When a mysterious woman intrudes on his private party in Monte Carlo, he is certain the universe has brought his polar opposite into his life as salvation. He is sunshine, she is moonlight; he is a bright star and she is a moonbeam.

Destiny takes the wheel, steering Kamari into Thiago’s orbit, but her open disdain and closely guarded heart warn her to stay away. Enchanted by her charms, Thiago is intent on melting her freezing barriers and tearing down the walls shielding her heart.

When Kamari agrees to help him save his future by being his fake girlfriend, the unexpected happens, triggered by a game of lies, secrets and desire.

A little late but I am finally getting to share Ra A little late but I am finally getting to share Race 5’s Race Week Reads review. This week I read, Downforce (Pit Lane #1) by Hannah Lily.

🏎️ Review 🏎️

I had so much fun reading this book. I knew I was in for a ride as soon as I started Downforce. It was entertaining, fun, and I just had a good time reading it. And while it does explore some heavy topics, I don’t think it took away from the fun nature of the book.

Right from the start, we can see the tension between F1 Presenter, Olivia Fraser and F1 Driver, Jonah Scott. And while silly at times, it was fun seeing them interact together. Both really didn’t like each other. They both had said things about and to one another that sometimes it caused chaos. And I was here for it.

I did find that at times, just silly things happened. I am not a massive rom-com reader, and there was a lot of falling into one another, and arguments stemmed from nothing. This is honestly just because I don’t like these types of scenes, but it didn’t really make me dislike the book at all.

I loved the whole road trip aspect of the book, it’s different from other F1 books I’ve read so far this year and just made for some interesting banter and lust. I do wish that the road trip was a little longer than it was because I did feel like the romance moved pretty quickly here, but again, it didn’t really affect how much I was enjoying the book.

The romance was this combination of being slow burn and full of angst right at the start, to the road trip happening and then bam. But I loved it, though. The banter between Olivia and Jonah was fantastic. I loved seeing them grow not only with one another but with themselves as well.

Overall, I had a great time reading Downforce and will be continuing the series for sure when the other books come out. The romance was angsty and just felt right. The found family aspect really worked well here, and the F1 aspects were pretty okay. Not the best I’ve seen, but not the worst either. If you are looking for a fun read that has a great romance and a little rom-comy, then pick this one up.
I’ve already had a pretty amazing reading year. I’ve already had a pretty amazing reading year. There have been so many books that I have enjoyed but there are some that I have just loved. 🖤

I didn’t realise before I put this post together that all of these books are from authors I’ve read and loved before. There hasn’t been a Rebecca Yarros book that I haven’t rated under 4 Stars. Elsie Silver is just making me love everything that she writes. Wild and Wrangled may be my favourite in the series. 📖

Three rereads also made it to this list. Binding 13 still makes me gasp and smile all at the same time. And Caught Up and Play Along just hit every time. 📚

I’ve honestly had a great year so far and since making this post a few more books I’ve read I’ve ended up loving. It’s going to be hard to pick my favourites at the end of the year that is for sure. ✨

What books have you loved reading this year? Are any books that made my list on yours? Let me know!
