Synopsis:
First it was SLUT scribbled all over Lizzie Hart’s locker. But one week after Lizzie kills herself, SUICIDE SLUT replaces it—in Lizzie’s looping scrawl.
Lizzie’s reputation is destroyed when she’s caught in bed with her best friend’s boyfriend on prom night. With the whole school turned against her, and Angie not speaking to her, Lizzie takes her own life. But someone isn’t letting her go quietly. As graffiti and photocopies of Lizzie’s diary plaster the school, Angie begins a relentless investigation into who, exactly, made Lizzie feel she didn’t deserve to keep living. And while she claims she simply wants to punish Lizzie’s tormentors, Angie’s own anguish over abandoning her best friend will drive her deep into the dark, twisted side of Verity High—and she might not be able to pull herself back out.
Debut author Chelsea Pitcher daringly depicts the harsh reality of modern high schools, where one bad decision can ruin a reputation, and one cruel word can ruin a life. Angie’s quest for the truth behind Lizzie’s suicide is addictive and thrilling, and her razor-sharp wit and fierce sleuthing skills makes her impossible not to root for—even when it becomes clear that both avenging Lizzie and avoiding self-destruction might not be possible.
My Review
The S-Word was a very interesting book, It incorporates the harsh reality of what modern high schools could be like, how one bad decision can ruin someone’s reputation and cruel words can ruin someone’s life. First I have never read a book like the S-word before in the context of Suicide/Death. When I started reading the S-Word I found it very intriguing, the storyline pulled me in. I like the writing style of Chelsea Pitcher and they way she captured the hurt, passion and feelings of a teen that not only had her friend sleep with her boyfriend but that friend committed suicide and she had to deal with the after mat. I liked the character of Angie, I thought she was written very well and when someone don’t like her consent ‘obsession’ with finding out who cause all the pain to her friend, I found it something that a true real friend would do in a way. I also liked the structure of the novel with the Dairy Entry of Lizzie’s in-between the dialogue of the novel, it’s very different and it was enjoyable to read. This book pulled alot of heart strings and really got you to think deep down. A few negatives I have to point out are that there could have been more character building in Characters not so much Lizzie but Angie and the book did drag on a little bit. But Overall I liked the book quite a bit

My Review
I have wanted to pick up Delirium by Lauren Oliver for a while now and lets just say I am very glad I picked it up. The love everything about this book, the characters, the world, I found it very interesting. Firstly I love the character of Lena, the way she thinks just made me want to read more and more. I found the concept of love as a infection very interesting, and different. This is the first Dystopian book, and first Lauren Oliver book and i am very glad that I have read both. I love the Character of Alex, he is just….. what can I say, Interesting handsome, amazing, lets just say that I love him. I love the writing style of Oliver, I found that i wanted to read more and more and more. I love the little back stories that are tired into Delirium, her mum, Hanna, her family. And all I can say is what a cliff hanger… gosh. I really did enjoy this book.
So I have to give this book a 5 our of 5 stars
I am also doing the Eclectic Reader Challenge 2013, this books is in the categories of 7, Dystopian.
Synopsis:
“Who gives a damn about their reputation? Oh, that would be me! Especially since mine had gone straight to hell in the span of thirty minutes”.
Maysie Ardin is soaking up the summer before her junior year of college, shopping, hanging by the pool and shopping some more. But when her black belt in spending lands her in trouble with her parents, she is forced to take a second job at a local bar to dig herself out of a deep financial pit.
She thought she’d be miserable. But then Maysie didn’t count on Jordan Levitt, the hot, pierced and tattooed, drum playing bartender who also happens to be very interested in her. And the feelings are totally mutual.
It had the makings of the perfect romantic set up. Boy meets girl. Boy likes girl. Boy has girlfriend? Okay, maybe not.
But attraction is a hard thing to ignore and soon Jordan and Maysie find themselves in the middle of a gossip induced firestorm. Maysie has to learn whether she can set aside her fear of public disapproval in order to be with the one she wants. Or will she let the opinions of others dictate her life and her heart?
Bad Rep by A. Meredith Walters is the first New Adult book that I have read, i found it a quick, enjoyable read, with a little of a dark edge. I liked the Characters of Maysie and Jordan, but they did get on my nerves a bit. I loved when Jordan and Maysie had there moments they were really cute, and some a bit steamy. But when they were fighting, they both just got on my nerves and I wanted to smack them in the heads. I also like the idea of Jordan in a bad, I also love that he has tattoo’s I am a sucker for tattoo’s so that did make me like Jordan a bit better. I liked the idea of Maysie working at the bar, I found it very interesting. The back stories behind the whole book were interesting as well, like the relationship with her parents, I didn’t like her Dad one bit, but i guess he was written that way. Overall it was an good read, it is a steamy book so i don’t recommend to anyone under the age of 16, it did make me laugh at times, and even get a little emotion at one point, and had it’s cheesey moments but this book did have it’s flaws.
So i give this book a 3.5 stars out of 5
