Synopsis:
Clary Fray just wishes that her life would go back to normal. But what’s normal when you’re a demon-slaying Shadowhunter, your mother is in a magically induced coma, and you can suddenly see Downworlders like werewolves, vampires, and faeries? If Clary left the world of the Shadowhunters behind, it would mean more time with her best friend, Simon, who’s becoming more than a friend. But the Shadowhunting world isn’t ready to let her go — especially her handsome, infuriating, newfound brother, Jace. And Clary’s only chance to help her mother is to track down rogue Shadowhunter Valentine, who is probably insane, certainly evil — and also her father.
To complicate matters, someone in New York City is murdering Downworlder children. Is Valentine behind the killings — and if he is, what is he trying to do? When the second of the Mortal Instruments, the Soul-Sword, is stolen, the terrifying Inquisitor arrives to investigate and zooms right in on Jace. How can Clary stop Valentine if Jace is willing to betray everything he believes in to help their father?
My Review
I read City of Ashes as soon as I finished City of bones and what can I say it only got better. I love the character development and the characterisation of old characters and new. I learnt from reading the first book that i can not predict anything that is going to happen and I loved it. It made me more interested in reading it and not know what could happen. I loved that the book was fastish moving and not slow and dragging expect a little little bit at the start. I loved that we got to know a bit more about the minor characters like Alec, Isabelle, Magus, Simon etc. Also who could not forget about Clary and Jace. I love because she is not the weak lead female character, she is strong, determined and does what she thinks is right for those she loves. which I think is an strong quality to have which makes me love her even more that I do. Jace is Jace, I love that we see his sarcastic, arrogant side but then I love that we start to see his other side that one that is a little vulnerable. I also like that the ‘love-triangle’ is so little, I don’t like love-triangles so I loved that it was so little. The emotions that I got for wanting Jace and Clary together the whole book, made me so confused I wanted them to be together so much but then I thought how twisted it was and how wired it made me feel. I also like that we go more introduced into the shadowhunters world and we got to see more creatures. I loved the ending it was so good and suspenseful. Cassandra’s writing never is just amazing. Valentine is just the perfect villain oh my gosh.

Synopsis
When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder — much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It’s hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing — not even a smear of blood — to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?
This is Clary’s first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It’s also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace’s world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . .
My Review
wow, what else can I say. I loved City of Bones so much, it drew me in from the first page and I could not out it down. I loved the way Cassandra Clare’s writing captivated me. It brought me into the whole new world of Shadowhunters and demons. Even thought it was set in New York it felt like i was in a whole different world. We first come to met Clary one of our main characters whom I came to like thought out the whole book, I like her character, even though she is ‘weak’ she is also very strong. Simon and I love him but then I don’t love him, maybe that is because I love Jace so much. I love Jace’s Characterisation, he is a dick head at times, but then he cares a hell of alot about the ones he loves and would do anything for them. Jace at times in City of Bones does get me a little frustrated but oh well. Now to Isabelle Lightwood, at first I hated her, her attitude just got onto my nerves a lot but as the books went on I grew to love her. I loved Alex Lightwood from the Start even though he hated Clary, I understand why. I loved the way Cassandra brought froth Alec, he may not have killed any demons but he comes forward as a strong character to me. I love Cassandra Clare’s writing, City of Bones was beautifully written. An Oh my gosh the twist and turns and just wow! I would have never guessed some of them, just omg. I love the Character of Magnus Bane just he is amazing haha, I love the characterisation and I love the way her acts. Now on to Valentine Morgenstern, what a perfect villain he is, the way he acts, the way her talks, and my hatred for him, just a perfect villain. Cassandra’s descriptions of everything in City of Bones, From places to Characters was just brilliant. I could go on and on about it. I love the story line of the whole book it was refreshing and different and I loved it. And all I can say is The Bloody Ending OMG!
I give City of Bones by Cassandra Clare a 4 out of 5 Star
Synopsis
I’m pushing aside
the memory of my nightmare,
pushing aside thoughts of Alex,
pushing aside thoughts of Hana
and my old school,
push,
push,
push,
like Raven taught me to do.
The old life is dead.
But the old Lena is dead too.
I buried her.
I left her beyond a fence,
behind a wall of smoke and flame.
My Review
I started to read Pandemonium as soon as I finished Delirium because I loved Delirium so much, but I wasn’t so happy. Don’t get me wrong I do like Pandemonium but it did not hit me with amazing things like Delirium did. First off, we had no idea what happened to Alex like the last 3 pages like hello and in the mean time Lena was getting close to someone else.
I have a big hate for Love triangles they just really get on my nerves but some books I can handle them, this is not one of them. I dislike the character of Julian, and I have no idea why, he just got on my nerves when ever he was just annoying me. But lets get over all that. I love the way Lauren Oliver writes, it draws me in, and makes me want to read more and more. I loved the introduction of these new characters, and the new setting, it was very intriguing and I wanted to know more about the outside. I also like the surprise we get on the way I won’t tell you what they are, for those who have not read it yet. I did get a little confused with the now and then, but then I got used to it. I did give this a 4 out of 5 starts because I did like it, just not as much as Delirium.
