Top Ten Reasons I Love Being A Blogger/Reader

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they post a new Top Ten list that members at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. All bloggers are then welcomed to join. This week’s Top Ten Tuesday is: Top Ten Reasons I Love Being A Blogger/Reader

I deiced to combined these and have a mixture of both. These are in no particular order. I love being a Blogger/Reader Because….

1. I get met new people: Online or at events, I get to met new people. Which is really cool. I love meeting new people, getting to know them.

2. I am opened to different genre’s of books that i wouldn’t before: Before I started Blogging, I stuck to the supernatural genre, but since blogging I have been open to other genres. I have started reading Contemporary, Dystopian and so much more. I really love it.

3. I get to interact with authors: I get to interact with Authors on Twitter, facebook etc, who’s books I read, and authors of books that I haven’t read yet. I really love it.

4. I get to talk about books: On my blog, all the time. I love talking about books. Reading is my hobby so talking about why I love books is awesome.

5. I get to learn about new books: As I blogger, I always go on other book blogs, so i am always seeing new books that have no come out yet, or have been published and I have never heard of them, and a few times I have loved these books.

6. I get to have great conversations about books with people that love books: I get to talk to people on my twitter and here on my blogs about books, which is just awesome. I love talking about something I love with people that love the same thing.

7. I can travel to different world: Because books are all in different worlds, I get to go to so many different world, all over the world.

8. My passion for reading has increased: Since I started blogging. I have just read more and more. I love it. I see all these books that I want to read. I read over 50 books last year, which for me is a hell of alot.

9. I get to know great different Authors: Before I started blogger I only knew a certain amount of author, but I have just been opened to all different authors.

10. It has improved my writing skills: I love writing and since reading and also writing blog post, my writing skills have improved a little.

Review

I have been reading a few New Adult and Adult books in the past few months and when I saw that there was going to be a blog tour for Fighting for the Edge, I jumped right into it. I have wanted to read this book for a while now, so I could not say no, and I was not disappointed all.

Fighting for the Edge is the 3rd book in The Edge Series. But you don’t have to read the two books before Fighting for the Edge, you will have a better understanding of some of the other characters. I didn’t read the first two books, though I plan to really soon.

Fighting for the Edge was a charming, surprising read. I really liked the setting of the novel. How it was based on Ice Skating. It’s one of my favourite winter sports. I just love it. The costumes, the jumps, they way that they dance. just everything – well expect falling. So I really liked that I got to learn more about the sport.

I really liked Aubrey, the main character of the novel. She is really likable and somehow which I don’t know, relatable. I think that is why I felt for her so much. I wanted to hug her and tell her everything is going to be alright. Aubrey characterisation built up as the story went on. We see her grow as the novel goes on. I really enjoy this experience. Yes, I wanted to yell at her a couple of times but hey, people make mistakes too and this is which is the reason why I wanted to hit Marley in the head. Yes I understand why she is upset but come on. What she said and did was just so frustrating.

This book is told in two POV’s ,one is Aubrey and the other is Emily, a married skater. Hmm, I have mixed feelings about Emily. She is nice and I liked her but sometimes she annoyed the hell out of me. I liked the 2 POV’s. It really added the the novel and the whole dynamic of it. But as said before, Emily did get on my nerves. I also felt just so sorry for Emily. I wanted to hug her and hold her tight. I kind of guess what was going to happen, I guess you can kind of call it cliche. I also really disliked her parents, they just hit those spots of things I dislike about parents. Like I said with Aubrey we also see Emily grow through Fighting for the Edge.

Sergei is Emily’s husband and again another character that I have mixed feelings about. I liked him for the most part. But the little things that he did here and there, just made me twinge. Especially the way he treated Aubrey after she did something not that smart, I understand why but it got me so angry.

Chris, Chris, Chris, man I love Chris. Just from the start, he is just amazing okay? He is sweet and caring and he has feelings. I like that he doesn’t try and hide those feelings. He has his heart on his sleeve. I had so many different feelings throughout the novel and I blame Chris for most of them. Chris and Aubrey are just the cutest things on the planet.

I like the writing style of Jennifer Comeaux, the way she writes, pulls you in. The characterisation of the characters, was well done and I enjoy seeing them, if not all the characters grow through the novel. I was taken on a ride of emotions, good and bad. I was transported into the world of Figure Skating. Fighting for the Edge was an enjoyable read that I would recommend to someone looking for something new.

Review

Richelle Mead you always seem to do again and again. The Indigo Spell is my favourite book so far. It’s heartwarming, cute, beautiful, full of suspense all at the same time.

My heart suffered in this book, it was that beautiful. The dynamic between Adrian and Sydney just increased so much in The Indigo Spell. There were so many moments where my heart melted and I loved them cause they were not cringe worthy, they were beautiful.

Sydney has grown so much throughout her time living in Palm Springs, and we see most of that in The Indigo Spell. We see her not only tolerating the gang but becoming friends with them, caring for them, loving them in more ways than one. She also become more strong minded if that is even possible. She starts standing up for herself and she is believing in herself even more than before that the Alchemists are not what they say to be. We also see her mind in very different places. She still somewhat influenced by her beliefs and I don’t blame her for that at all. She grew up with all these beliefs, she cannot change instantly.

Adrian, Adrian, Adrian my love. Adrian himself has grown so much since we first see him in this series. He becomes more independent. He starts to let go of Rose. The way he speaks about Sydney, to her, is just so much more passionate then when he talked to or about Rose. He changes and I love this Adrian. He is his usual self but so much, what’s the word umm strong I guess you could say.

We find out so much about the Alchemists and lets just say they blew my mind. It was excepted but not to the sense of what they were. It made the story that more interesting. As always I loved the magic that is incorporated into it. It just takes the novel to a different place and WOW it changes the dynamic in The Indigo Spell. Richelle Mead just knows how to take something to a different level. There were just so many twist and turns.

Jill reminds me somewhat of Lissa, in this book. I don’t know what it is. Maybe her ‘anger’ towards Sydney about Adrian or that she is determined. She like most of the characters grows a lot through The Indigo Spell. She is starting to become more independent in some way and I guess that’s because she also getting older. Eddie I just love him and gosh I just want to hug him and tell him everything is going to be alright. He still cares so much for Jill it’s heartbreaking. Angelina arrg my dislike for her is not at all helped in this book at all, I just want to yell at her.

There was so many moments throughout this book that ripped apart my heart. There were jaw dropping moments. I could not predict anything. I just didn’t know what was going to happen. I think that’s why I think I like Richelle Mead. I cannot expect something to happen in her stories since she just goes one way then, BAM something happens and the story goes into a totally different direction. In a good way. I also love Mead’s characterisation. She does it brilliantly.

The Indigo Spell has unexpected turns and swoon worthy moments that capture your heart. I couldn’t put the book down. I just needed to know what was going to happen.
