After a slower start to the year, I’m finally getting back into the reading groove in March. While I didn’t read as many as I usually read, I feel like reading a lot more. There was a week where I went into a little slump but since then I’ve not put a book down.
I did a mix of re-reading, reading things that have been on my tbr for some time and some new reads. It was a mix of romance, young adult and even graphic novels making it a great reading month for me. Enough of all this, let’s get into it.
Chain of Iron (The Last Hours #2) by Cassandra Clare: I read this as soon as it was published. I didn’t want to wait long because of spoilers. Plus I was still at home recovering at this point. I don’t want to say too much about this one yet, but I loved it. The characters were amazing, the plot killed me. Let’s just say that this book left me broken. And I’m not sure how I’m going to wait for the last book. | 4.5 Stars
Den of Vipers by K.A. Knight: Firstly this book isn’t for everyone. It’s dark, messy and not something that I would recommend out of the blue. I saw this one floating around and it sounded interesting. There were times where I had to step back and take a breath. But overall, it was a great read and I could not put it down. | 4 Stars
Nova (The Renegades #2) by Rebecca Yarros: This was my first re-read for the month. And it was great. I’m not too sure why I felt like re-reading, but I needed the messy, second chance love of Nova and Rachel. | 4 Stars
The Spinster and the Rake (Never a Wallflower #1) by Eva Devon: I hadn’t read anything from Eva Devon before I picked up this one, but I had a great time reading it. This marriage of convenience hit all the right spots and just put a smile on my face. I can’t wait to read more in this series. | 3.5 Stars
Only a Duke Will Do (School For Heiresses #2) by Sabrina Jeffries: I am slowly making my way through this series and this was the one that I didn’t love. It was fine and I didn’t hate it. But it just didn’t me the same feels like the other books in the series. Even other Sabrina Jeffries from different series | 3 Stars
The Shadow and Bone Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo: I put off reading this series for years now and I’m not sure why. I loved Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom and then I never picked this series. But with the Netflix series coming out in April, I pushed. And I loved them all and frustrated that I waited this long to pick them up. | 4 stars
Beware a Scot’s Revenge (School For Heiresses #3) by Sabrina Jeffries: After not loving the second book, this one was fantastic. It was fun and enjoyable and hit me all in the right spots. I wish there were a little more feelings in the romance. But I still loved it a lot and can’t wait to read more | 4 Stars
Heartstopper: Volume 1-3 by Alice Oseman: This is another one that has been on my tbr for some time and I finally read them all. This is also the first book that I have read from my tbr that my best friend Ely picked for me. Heartstopper is adorable, and I could not stop smiling throughout reading it. I even read them all in the same day because I could not help myself | 4 Stars
The Extraordinaries (The Extraordinaries #1) by T.J. Klune: This was mine and Ely’s buddy read for March and I had a fantastic time reading it. It’s funny and made my heart happy. The House in the Cerulean Sea is one of my favourite books of all time, so I had high hopes for this one – and let’s say I can’t wait for book 2 | 4 Stars
