A couple of months ago I spoke about my best series endings. And I had so much fun doing that post that I thought I would share some of my worst series endings. A series can be going pretty good, and then you get to that last book and it just all goes downhill. I think that is one of the worse things that could happen for a series, but here we go.
I’ll try not and spoil the endings per say, but I will talk about them in my dissatisfaction sense. I tried to mix this list up and add some newer series too. Like always these series are in no real order.
Allegiant (Divergent #3) by Veronica Roth: I don’t think you would be surprised to see this one on my list. This ending. Wow. I can’t say much without giving things away. But I feel that I wasted my time reading this series for that ending. I just saw no point.
Perfect by Cecelia Ahern: Perfect was an okay read. I enjoyed parts of it and disliked others. What disappointed me most was that I was expecting more. This world intrigued me and I was left hanging. The ending was very abrupt and just didn’t tie things up for me.
Requiem (Delirium #3) by Lauren Oliver: What can I say about this series. It just got worse for me as it went on. I really enjoy the concept of the series but then it just off the trail for me. I never really understood what happened and how it all got to that place. Nevertheless, the ending didn’t even stand up for it.
Mockingjay (The Hunger Games #3) by Suzanne Collins: Ah, I never thought that this would make my list. When I finished it, I did like it and overall the whole book is pretty good. But there were just certain factors of the book that didn’t sit right. From the deaths to what happened afterward. I felt that nothing was accomplished.
And that is it! I realised that I haven’t read many series where I really didn’t like the ending! Which is fantastic if I say so myself. Are there series that you think have the worst endings? Let’s Chat!
