On the 28th of June I headed to the heart of Melbourne for a fun adventure of book shopping and talking with a bunch of Victorian book bloggers and booktubers.
On the day, I woke up early (well early for me on a weekend and holidays), got ready and waited for my aunty. We headed to her work before I left for the event.
After having my favourite drink from Starbucks (White Chocolate Mocha), I headed to Federation Square. I was the first one there but I was in the city pretty early. It was not long after that, that Ely arrived then everyone started flowing in. It was great meeting everyone, especially those whom I talk to quite a lot on twitter.
After everyone arrived, we headed to our first book shop Dymocks and lets just say it was the best. After Dymocks we headed to lunch and I had a really nice chat with Ely and Ebony about, you guessed it – books!
We then went to a couple more book stores and everyone starting to stack up on the books. It was fun walking around the city, going into book stores, recommending books to each other. It was just a really good day sharing it with people that love books just as much as I do.
I am pretty sure each of us bought at least 2 books each, with Miranda having bought the most books of 15. Yes you read right 15! It was really an amazing day. I got to meet some amazing readers, and had some amazing conversations. I cannot wait for the next event it’s going to be even bigger and better.
I only picked up two books. Anna and the French Kiss and Every Breath (which is Signed!!!!). If you have read my discussion about book stores you would know that I rarely buy books from stores because they are quite expensive but Dymocks did have a 20% off sale so I didn’t mind.
Thank you to everyone that came. It was really amazing seeing and meeting you all. Cannot wait for our next meet up.
