Synopsis
They say that the cure for Love will make me happy and safe forever.
And I’ve always believed them.
Until now.
Now everything has changed.
Now, I’d rather be infected with love for the tiniest sliver of a second than live a hundred years smothered by a lie.
Lena looks forward to receiving the government-mandated cure that prevents the delirium of love and leads to a safe, predictable, and happy life, until ninety-five days before her eighteenth birthday and her treatment, when she falls in love.
My Review
I have wanted to pick up Delirium by Lauren Oliver for a while now and lets just say I am very glad I picked it up. The love everything about this book, the characters, the world, I found it very interesting. Firstly I love the character of Lena, the way she thinks just made me want to read more and more. I found the concept of love as a infection very interesting, and different. This is the first Dystopian book, and first Lauren Oliver book and i am very glad that I have read both. I love the Character of Alex, he is just….. what can I say, Interesting handsome, amazing, lets just say that I love him. I love the writing style of Oliver, I found that i wanted to read more and more and more. I love the little back stories that are tired into Delirium, her mum, Hanna, her family. And all I can say is what a cliff hanger… gosh. I really did enjoy this book.
So I have to give this book a 5 our of 5 stars
I am also doing the Eclectic Reader Challenge 2013, this books is in the categories of 7, Dystopian.
